Ute Krämer, M.Sc. in Mental Health Services and Population Research from King’s College London, works as a research associate at the Brandenburg Medical School, incorporating her own experiences with psychiatry. Through her training in user-led/survivor research, she contributes to the development of roles and scientific approaches for researchers with lived experience of discrimination in Germany. In recent years, she has participated in a nationwide mixed-methods study on peer support by experts by experience. Together with Professor Sebastian von Peter, she was responsible for the design phase of a participatory systematic review in collaboration with partners in England and the Netherlands. Her interest lies in improving the conditions for collaborative research between researchers with lived experience and peer experts. One of her goals is to bring research findings from the perspectives of marginalized individuals more strongly into societal and political debates.
